Find the Perfect Wig for You

Choosing the correct wig can feel overwhelming—especially if you’ve never worn one before.
At Exceptional Wigs, we make the process simple, personal, and tailored entirely to you.

Exceptional Wigs carries only lightweight wigs with a monofilament top.

The top of the wig, hairpiece, or topper is always handmade for a natural look. Every strand of hair is individually placed by hand, so when you look at the top of your head, it appears as though the hair is growing directly from your scalp.

Monofilament Top with Lace Front

Lace Front
The reason you may want or need a lace front is if you do not want have bangs.

Bangs help cover the break between the wig, topper, or hairpiece and your natural hairline. So, if you do not want bangs, a lace front is strongly recommended.

A lace front sits directly on the skin and creates the illusion that the hair is growing right out of your head. There are different lace textures available, which we will discuss during your consultation.

Construction Options

The back and sides of the wig can be:

  • Hand-tied
  • Machine-made
  • Or a combination of both

During your consultation, we will determine what best fits your needs.

Every person is different, so every wig, topper, or hairpiece is tailored specifically for you.

Types of Wigs Offered

Exceptional Wigs carries three types of wigs:

  • Human Hair
  • Human/Synthetic Blend
  • Synthetic

Human Hair

The style can be easily changed—from curly to smooth—using products and styling tools.

Human/Synthetic Blend

Most blends contain heat-resistant fibers, allowing you to alter the style with heat. However, this is not an easy process.

  • Avoid high heat with styling tools or blow dryers.
  • The more you change the style, the faster the hair will break down.

Because blends contain synthetic fibers, they are “wash and wear.”

Keep in mind: any synthetic fibers in a wig, topper, or hairpiece will break down over time due to friction and body heat—especially in areas that touch the back of your neck or extend longer.

Nothing penetrates these fibers to fully restore them. However, using  Wig Lift Leave-In Conditioner can help slow this process.

WIG LIFT contains anti-static properties that coat synthetic fibers and help prevent breakdown.

Synthetic Wigs, Toppers, or Hairpieces

Synthetic fibers reflect light rather than absorb it, so different lighting may alter how the color appears. They also tend to feel drier to the touch.

Important Care Instructions:

  • No heat
  • No blow dryers
  • No curling irons
  • Avoid opening hot ovens nearby
  • Stay away from buffets or rotisserie stations

(It sounds funny, but overhead heat sources can damage synthetic fibers.)

It may not look brand new, but I offer free consultations on repairs. I’ll let you know if it can be fixed and what the cost will be. If I can fix it—I will.
